Botox and Fillers

Botox is the first and only FDA-approved drug that is used to cosmetically improve the appearance of wrinkles, especially crow’s feet and brow lines. It does so by temporarily paralyzing the muscles. Clinically, Botox also treats more than 20 different medical conditions including certain muscular conditions, migraines and leaky bladders. When it is injected in very small doses, it prevents nerve signals from reaching the muscles, prohibiting them from contracting. Before injection, the doctor dilutes Botox in saline and then administers it into the neuromuscular tissues. It usually takes about one to two weeks for the maximum effect to occur. Most patients do not experience any side effects with Botox, but some may feel some mild discomfort or numbness in the injection area. Risks include dry mouth, headaches or eye/face drooping. Pregnant or nursing mothers are advised to not use Botox.

Dermal Fillers

If you are looking for plumper lips, softer wrinkles/creases or a more youthful/full face, dermal fillers may be your answer. They are often used in conjunction with other skin enhancement procedures, most notably Botox injections. Fillers offer many of the same results as plastic surgery but without the recovery time. They are not permanent and the treatment must be repeated to maintain the results. Dr. Ross is well trained in both dermatology and cosmetic surgery, which is essential for safe and extraordinary results.

Fillers are injected in an outpatient setting, and each injection only takes a few moments to perform. To start, an antibacterial agent is applied to each of the injection sites. Then, a topical anesthetic is administered. Pain or discomfort is minimal, but an ice pack can be applied to alleviate any tenderness. Scars and deep wrinkle lines may require multiple injections/visits.

Double Chin--Treat it with Kybella

Unwanted fat can appear in just about area of the body, including underneath the chin. Submental fat, more commonly known as a “double chin,” can be embarrassing, even distressing, because it is nearly impossible to treat with diet and exercise. If you long for a smoother, sleeker jawline, we offer a quick and effective nonsurgical solution. Kybella is an injectable treatment recently approved by the FDA that improves the appearance of moderate to severe submental fat. When injected, the product destroys fat cells in the chin area. The result is a thinner, more well-defined jaw line.

Skin Resurfacing

This treatment is often referred to as peeling, given that the Erbium/Yag laser gently removes layers of tissue to achieve long-lasting skin rejuvenation. It dramatically improves the appearance of wrinkles, acne scarring, sun spots and other skin abnormalities. Research has shown that this treatment stimulates new collagen formation, resulting in an even more robust and smooth skin tone. The length and intensity of these treatments are tailored to the individual’s desired results and skin damage and/or irregularities, with downtime varying, but most commonly about three to five days.

VISIATM Diagnostic Skin Analysis

This is the “first step” to transforming the look and feel of your skin’s texture and appearance. Our clinical esthetician uses the Visia system to capture key visual information for six areas affecting the health of your complexion (wrinkles, spots, pores, color variation, porphyrins (bacteria in the pores) and UV damage).

Deep Pore Cleanse

This individually formulated treatment exfoliates the skin to expose a healthy glow. Skin analysis, followed by gentle cleansing, facial massage, light extractions and warm towels, culminating with a custom-blended mask (calming, or glycolic) depending upon skin type. A hand massage with warm mitts is added to complete the relaxing experience.

Problem Skin

This treatment is designed to address both adolescent and adult acne, and includes a deep pore cleanse, extractions and a deep follicle mask to aid in the elimination of blemishes, plus a rebalancing moisturizer  with sunscreen. Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive procedure beginning with dermaplaning of the skin, followed by the use of controlled vacuum-assisted pressure to gently exfoliate and extract dead skin cells, and unveil younger, healthier looking skin. This procedure offers remarkable results by diminishing fine lines, blackheads, blemishes, minor pigment inconsistencies and sun damage. Treatment is completed with a light alpha-hydroxy acid solution.

Dermaplaning is the process of exfoliation that uses a surgical scalpel to free the skin’s surface of dead cellular layers and protein buildup.

Chemical Peels

Single Micro-Peel Treatment

Designed to resurface the skin, this three-step process removes a micro-thin layer of skin using pure enzyme, or dermaplaning. That's followed by a 20/70% Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) application, and skin freezing using C02.

Liquid Retinol (added to Micro-Peel treatment)

A liquid Retinol may be added for extra exfoliation. This procedure helps cellular turnover and reduces acne, fine lines and brown spots.

Micro Peel “PLUS” Treatment
  • Series of 3 prepaid treatments.
  • Series of 6 prepaid treatments.

This is an advanced treatment to stimulate cellular turnover through the application of salicylic, lactic acid and Resorcinol applied to the skin, followed by liquid Retinol which remains on the skin. People experience the best results through multiple treatments, which help to smooth fine lines, even skin discoloration and reduce acne and sun damage.

Vitalize Peel – single treatment
  • Series of 3 prepaid treatments.

This peel helps to erase the effects of time, and is an unique blend of 10% alpha-hydroxy acid, beta-hydroxy acid, Resorcinol and 3% retinoic acid. It's clinically proven to improve pigmentation, malasma and the effects of sun damage. You will experience little or no down time with this superficial peel. The best results are achieved with a series of treatments, and it's suitable for most skin types.

Jessner/TCA Peel

A 14% Jessner solution and a 20% Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is applied to give a “medium depth” peel, which focuses on deep wrinkles, pigment problems and skin imperfections in order to smooth the skin texture. This process can be done on the face, neck, chest and arms. The treatment price varies, depending upon which areas are treated.

ZO (by Zein Obagi, MD) 3-Step Peel

This technologically advanced three-step procedure is the only multi-functional, epidermal peel designed to provide long lasting treatment benefits. It uses a blend of exfoliants (17% Salicylic acid, 10% TCA, 5% Lactic acid, 6% Retinol), which stimulate collagen and restore the skin's moisture balance. The process reveals softer, smoother, tighter-looking skin. Best results are achieved with multiple treatments, which are suitable for most skin types.

Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) using Rejuvapen

Also referred to as “micro-needling” this non-ablative treatment stimulates the body’s production of collagen, resulting in the reduction of wrinkles, improvement of overall skin texture and the minimization of pores. CIT is also effective in improving the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks. The best results are achieved with multiple treatments.

Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) using Rejuvapen

Achieving celebrity status as the “vampire facial”, PRP therapy utilizes a leading-edge patented technology to extract naturally occurring protein growth factors from your own blood plasma to stimulate skin repair through promoting cell growth and collagen production. The treatment visibly transforms the look and feel of your skin. Ask if PRP is right for you.
