Rhinoplasty

also know as: "nose job" or "nose reshaping"

Rhinoplasty is both an art and a science. On the one hand, it requires a delicate touch and an aesthetic eye to create a nose that is both functional and pleasing to the eye. On the other hand, it also requires a great deal of knowledge and skill to ensure that the nose is structurally sound and will function properly.

The nose is one of the most prominent features on the face, and as such, even a small change can have a big impact. For this reason, it is important to choose a surgeon who is both experienced and skilled in rhinoplasty.
The first step in any rhinoplasty is a consultation with Dr. Lacerna. During this consultation, Dr. Lacerna will evaluate the patient’s face and nasal structure and discuss the goals of the surgery. It is important for the patient to be honest about their expectations and to have realistic goals.

Once the consultation is complete and the surgeon has a good understanding of what the patient is hoping to achieve, they will begin to formulate a surgical plan. This plan will take into account the patient’s unique anatomy and desires for the final result.

The next step is the actual surgery. This is typically done in our ambulatory surgery center under general anesthesia. The surgeon will make incisions in the skin and then work to reshape the underlying bone and cartilage.

After the surgery is complete, the incisions will be closed and the patient will be taken to a recovery area. They will likely experience some swelling and bruising, but this will subside over time.

Rhinoplasty is a complex surgery, but when performed by a skilled and experienced surgeon, it can result in a beautiful and functional nose. If you are considering this surgery, be sure to do your research and contact Dr. Lacerna to learn all your options.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT DURING AND AFTER MY RHINOPLASTY SURGERY?

Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure to change the shape of your nose. It can be done for medical reasons, such as to improve breathing, or for cosmetic reasons, such as to improve the appearance of your nose.

The surgery is usually done under general anesthesia, which means you’ll be asleep during the procedure. It usually takes 1 to 2 hours, but it may take longer if you’re having a complicated surgery.

After the surgery, you’ll probably have a splint on your nose to help support it as it heals. You might also have packing in your nose, which helps to control bleeding. You’ll likely have some bruising and swelling around your eyes. This usually goes away after a week or two.

It can take up to a year for the final results of your surgery to show. In the meantime, you can expect your nose to look and feel different. It’s important to follow your surgeon’s instructions on how to care for your nose as it heals.

Rhinoplasty is a serious surgery, so it’s important to when choosing Dr. Melinda Lacerna that you feel comfortable with her and her team at LA Plastic Surgery.

It’s also important to understand the risks of the surgery and what can go wrong. Be sure to ask your surgeon about the possible complications and how he or she would handle them.

Rhinoplasty is a safe and effective way to change the shape of your nose. When done by a qualified surgeon, it can give you both functional and beautiful results.
